Prevention Tips

This last Friday in October, we've put together valuable tips to prevent breast cancer. Check them out: 

1. Practice physical activity 

You can walk, dance, choose taking the stairs instead of the elevator, take the dog for a walk, take care of the house or garden or look for modalities, such as street running, gymnastics or weight training, among others. Enjoy and try to make these activities a collective, pleasurable and fun moment with family and friends. 

2. Healthy eating and maintenance of adequate body weight 

A healthy diet, in addition to providing nutrients that protect against cancer, favors the maintenance of adequate weight. The recommendation is to avoid ultra-processed foods and make plant foods, such as fruits, vegetables, beans and other grains, seeds and nuts the basis of food. 

3. Avoid the consumption of alcoholic beverages and smoking 

Its consumption, in any amount or type, contributes to the risk of developing cancer. In addition, combining alcoholic beverages with tobacco increases the possibility of developing the disease. 

4. Breastfeed 

Breastfeeding is the first healthy eating action. Breastfeeding protects mothers against breast cancer and children against childhood obesity.
