Breast cancer: signs and symptoms

Breast cancer: signs and symptoms

Continuing our Pink month, today we will address the main signs and symptoms of Breast Cancer.

In the early stages, this type of cancer can be detected, in most cases, through the following signs and symptoms:

- Nodule (lump), fixed and usually painless: it is the main manifestation of the disease, being present in about 90% of the cases when the cancer is noticed by the woman herself;

- Reddened, retracted or orange-peel-like breast skin;

- Changes in the nipple;

- Small lumps in the armpits or neck;- Spontaneous outflow of abnormal fluid from the nipples.

These signs and symptoms should always be investigated, but they may be related to benign breast diseases.

The attentive attitude of women in relation to breast health, which means knowing what is normal in their body and which changes are considered suspicious for breast cancer, is essential for the early detection of this disease.
