Seta’s Biome: Arbor Day

Seta’s Biome: Arbor Day

Today in Brazil, Tree Day is celebrated, a way to celebrate and reinforce the importance of these living beings. The date was chosen for its proximity to the beginning of spring, a time characterized by vast blooms, both in forest landscapes and in urban areas.

To give you an idea, more than 60,000 species of trees are known on the planet, and approximately 14% of these are in our country. In addition, it is estimated that there is a significant amount that is still unknown to science, mainly in South America and Oceania.

Trees perform several significant environmental functions in nature, as well as act in the generation of ecosystem goods and services, which greatly favor our quality of life. We can highlight the contribution to climate regulation, water cycles, carbon dioxide (CO2) absorption, soil protection and production of natural resources.

This publication is a simple way of honoring all the species of trees that provide food and sustain life in its broad meaning, in so many regions of our country.

We cannot fail to highlight our acacias and eucalyptus trees, trees brought from far away, cultivated here to obtain countless forest resources, which, especially in the regions where Seta operates, are the basis of the pillar of sustainability, through the generation of income for the families that cultivate, the preservation of natural ecosystems and a reliable, innovative economy that lasts over time, from forests to final products.
