Ruminal Health

Ruminal Health

The rumen is the main stomach compartment of ruminant animals and it is there that the first stages of digestion take place, through the action of bacteria, fungi and protozoa, which make up the ruminal flora.

For the proper functioning of the rumen, nutritional management is essential. Animals that have diets based on the consumption of bulky food have a lower risk of developing metabolic disorders, compared to confined and semi-confined animals. Since diets rich in concentrates can lead to a reduction in rumen pH, causing possible problems.

The use of additives that help balance the microbiota, such as NutreSet, provides a modulation of this bacterial population, as well as maintenance of the ruminal flora.
