Forests provide countless natural resources, which are present in furniture and wooden constructions, in paper packaging, in barbecue charcoal, in chestnuts, pine nuts and açaí, among many other examples that would not fit in a single publication. As citizens, it is our role to demand that these resources come from legal, certified sources that guarantee sustainable management. In doing so, we weaken illegal practices such as deforestation. One of the ways to verify the legality is through forest certifications, being the FSC (Forest Stewardship Council) one of the most recognized worldwide.
This weekend FSC started the FSC Forest Week, a global campaign to make society aware of the importance of producing and consuming responsibly.
Since 2004 Seta holds the FSC seal (FSC-C004306), certifying that our Black Acacia (Acacia mearnsii) plantations are in compliance with social, economic and environmental aspects. This certification demonstrates our commitment to forestry activities, showing the respect and concern we have for our partner: nature.
